Job Overview

The Material Handler II is responsible for carrying out both manual and clerical tasks involved in the storage, issuance, and delivery of materials and supplies. This role supports production departments by transporting products efficiently and safely within the facility.

Role Responsibilities

  • Carry out standard work processes independently with minimal supervision.
  • Set up and operate Value Stream workstations as required.
  • Manage issuing, delivery, and movement of materials for production autonomously.
  • Systematically store materials in designated bins, racks, or shelves, following proper identification protocols.
  • Use material handling machinery such as powered industrial trucks and pallet jacks, post-training, to facilitate material storage and transport tasks solo.
  • Address moderately complex challenges and escalate more intricate issues to senior personnel.
  • Achieve high quality standards in executing standard work, aiming for near zero defects.
  • Meet or exceed efficiency benchmarks for all assigned tasks.
  • Identify and solve straightforward problems in daily work with assistance available for more complicated issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent academic certification.
  • Between three to five years of experience in Receiving and Shipping functions.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, walk, and occasionally stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to regularly lift weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity including close vision, color vision, and depth perception is necessary.
  • Manual dexterity to operate basic measurement tools such as rulers, scales, calipers, and tape measures.
  • Competency in reading and writing English.
  • Basic computer skills, especially familiarity with Microsoft Windows environment.
