About the Role
Join a reputable and approachable company that manufactures and develops chilled meals supplied to leading UK supermarkets, producing over 3.7 million meals weekly. We are currently recruiting dedicated and dependable Material Control Operatives in Wrexham to contribute to delivering top-quality products consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage materials safely and efficiently throughout the production processes.
- Maintain a tidy, organized, and hazard-free work environment adhering to Health & Safety standards and achieving over 90% area GMP compliance.
- Work closely with inventory teams to ensure all materials are accurately tracked and available to support production needs.
- Monitor and document all Critical Control Points (CCP) during material transfers and chilling stages.
- Collaborate with other operators to avoid production delays in material control sections.
- Adopt a "clean as you go" mindset by consistently keeping workspaces neat throughout shifts.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in variable temperature settings, demonstrating strong attention to detail. Basic literacy and communication skills, including reading and writing, are essential, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
Experience in material handling is advantageous, particularly with liquid transfers, sauce processing, and chilling systems. A firm dedication to GMP standards and workplace safety is critical at all times.
Working Hours and Compensation
This full-time position operates on a 4 days on, 4 days off schedule with shifts either from 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am, requiring flexibility.
Pay rates are as follows:
- Day shifts: £13.65 per hour
- Night shifts: £14.72 per hour
- Overtime day rate: £20.48 per hour
- Overtime night rate: £22.08 per hour
