Master Cutter / Pattern Master (Couture & Eveningwear Specialist)

Role overview

An opportunity is available for a seasoned Master Cutter / Pattern Master in Dubai, UAE, focused on couture, eveningwear, luxury gowns, and premium partywear. The position suits someone who can convert creative fashion ideas into expertly engineered garments with an outstanding fit, refined structure, and polished finish.

Core duties

• Develop accurate patterns from sketches, technical illustrations, and draped samples.
• Create custom patterns by hand with a high level of precision.
• Cut a range of luxury fabrics and delicate materials, including linings, lace, silk, organza, tulle, sequins, and similar textiles.
• Revise patterns after fittings and when design changes are introduced.
• Use advanced couture methods such as draping, moulage, corsetry, and hand-finishing.
• Build internal garment foundations such as boning, bust cups, crinolines, and bodice support.
• Deliver garments with excellent comfort, durability, silhouette, and fit.
• Partner with designers to translate concepts into finished pieces.
• Support sewing teams with construction guidance and finishing standards.
• Check garments carefully to ensure they meet premium couture quality expectations.
• Assess fabric behavior and select suitable materials for specific designs and shapes.
• Plan fabric use efficiently while keeping waste to a minimum.
• Handle heavily embellished and luxury textiles confidently.
• Carry out exact alterations based on fitting notes.
• Maintain organized pattern libraries and records for repeat and custom orders.

Experience and qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in a Master Cutter, Pattern Master, or comparable role within couture or luxury fashion.
• Strong capability in pattern drafting, draping, and garment assembly.
• Deep understanding of body proportions, garment fitting, and haute couture standards.
• Hands-on experience with structured gowns, eveningwear, and embellished fabrics.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a busy atelier or high-end production setting.
