About the Role

This position is located at Avani Palm View Dubai Hotel & Suites, part of the Minor Hotels group. Avani Hotels focus on blending cool designs with practical functionality, delivering a welcoming and upbeat hospitality experience across their global locations.

The Mason will execute masonry, plastering, tiling, and general civil maintenance activities throughout the property. These tasks help maintain guest rooms, common areas, dining venues, service spaces, and outdoor sections to the highest standards, supporting the Engineering team in ensuring a safe, functional, and inviting hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform masonry jobs such as plastering, tiling, grouting, and concrete repairs across the hotel premises.
• Fix damaged structural elements including walls, ceilings, floors, walkways, and staircases.
• Install, replace, and repair various types of tiles including ceramic, porcelain, marble, and granite.
• Carry out minor civil tasks like bricklaying, cement rendering, screeding, and patch repairs.
• Address issues like cracks, concrete damages, expansion joints, and waterproofing problems.
• Restore damage coverings in guest areas and public spaces maintaining the hotel's quality norms.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests ensuring minimal disturbance to guests.
• Assist in room upgrades, renovation projects, and scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Inspect building finishes to identify defects affecting safety, aesthetic appeal, or comfort.
• Use and maintain masonry tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Collaborate with other Engineering trades for efficient completion of maintenance jobs.
• Keep accurate work order records and communicate material needs to supervisors.
• Ensure that work areas remain clean and safe before, during, and after tasks.
• Adhere to hotel policies, health and safety guidelines, and fire prevention protocols consistently.
• Support sustainability by minimizing waste and responsibly managing resources.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
