Job description
About the company
Gloria Jeans is a major Russian fast-fashion retailer with a vertically integrated model and more than 600 stores across Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus. Known for denim and affordable family clothing, the brand welcomes over 100 million shoppers each year. Its headquarters is now in Dubai to support international expansion, with digital growth and GCC marketplace expansion playing a key role in the company’s next phase.
Role overview
The Marketplace Key Account Manager will be responsible for building and expanding Gloria Jeans’ footprint on third-party marketplace platforms across the GCC. The position covers the full commercial relationship with marketplace partners, including setup, onboarding, daily trading, assortment planning, and ongoing performance improvement. It is a commercially focused role that combines business development, merchandising, and digital trading, while working closely with E-commerce, Merchandising, Marketing, and Logistics teams to deliver a strong and profitable platform presence.
Marketplace partnerships
- Research, assess, and bring new GCC marketplace partners on board, including platforms such as Noon, Amazon.ae, Namshi, and other emerging channels.
- Lead commercial discussions from start to finish, covering commission terms, traffic placements, exclusivity periods, co-marketing budgets, and service-level agreements.
- Shape each platform’s launch strategy, including market positioning, pricing approach, and rollout order.
- Develop durable relationships with key marketplace stakeholders such as category managers, business development leaders, and operations teams.
Assortment and merchandising
- Build the product range for each marketplace in line with the overall merchandising and inventory plan.
- Tailor the assortment by platform based on customer profile, category behavior, and competitor benchmarking.
- Make sure listings are fully optimized with strong titles, detailed descriptions, accurate imagery, sizing information, and complete product attributes.
- Review sell-through and stock movement at SKU level and share insights with the assortment planning process.
- Partner with internal merchandising teams on stock allocation, replenishment, and clearance priorities for each marketplace.
Promotions and commercial planning
- Own the promotional schedule for each marketplace in alignment with the company-wide promotional calendar.
- Plan and deliver platform-specific activity for seasonal events, major marketplace sales periods such as White Friday, Eid, Back to School, and Singles Day, as well as brand-led campaigns.
- Negotiate premium placement, banner exposure, and editorial visibility during peak trading periods.
- Define promotional mechanics for each platform, including discount levels, bundled offers, and exclusive drops, while working with the VP E-commerce and pricing governance.
- Measure promotional return on investment and use the findings to improve future planning.
Performance management and reporting
- Take ownership of the marketplace P&L, including GMV, NSV, gross margin, commission expense, returns, and overall contribution profitability.
- Set and monitor performance metrics by platform, including GMV, conversion, AOV, sell-through, traffic share, and return rate.
- Prepare weekly and monthly trading updates for the VP E-commerce, showing performance against targets and the actions required.
- Study competitor activity on each platform and identify market gaps and growth opportunities.
Operations and content coordination
- Work with Logistics and Customer Service to meet fulfilment SLAs, manage returns, and maintain marketplace compliance.
- Collaborate with Creative and Brand teams to create marketplace-ready assets such as imagery, A+ content, and brand store pages.
- Ensure product feeds and catalogue updates are submitted accurately and on schedule.
- Handle operational issues with marketplace partners and resolve problems that affect customer experience or trading results.
Experience
The role calls for 4 to 8 years of experience in marketplace management, key account management, or e-commerce trading. Direct exposure to GCC marketplaces such as Noon, Amazon.ae, Namshi, or similar platforms is strongly preferred. A background in fashion, apparel, or lifestyle retail is also preferred, along with experience managing a commercial P&L or budget and accountability for margin and contribution performance. Candidates should also have a proven history of negotiating and managing commercial partnerships with marketplace platforms.
