Job description
About the role
This position sits within the India social marketing function and focuses on building stronger audience connections through culture-relevant, measurable social programs. The role owns the measurement and insight strategy for Google’s product lines across owned social channels, with an emphasis on turning social data into actionable business guidance.
You will act as the main specialist for social platforms, helping shape real-time listening approaches, AI-supported workflows, and social-first measurement methods. The work spans the full social content lifecycle, from identifying trends to evaluating performance and closing the feedback loop with creative and editorial teams.
In this role, you will partner with product marketing, creative, agencies, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business questions into research, insights, and reporting. The scope includes organic social, paid social, and influencer strategy, along with agency management and the creation of measurement playbooks that can guide both local and regional teams.
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of hands-on professional experience.
- At least 6 years of marketing experience across one or more areas such as growth marketing, product marketing, brand marketing, or social marketing.
- Experience leading cross-functional or cross-team initiatives.
Preferred qualifications
- MBA degree.
- 7 years of experience leading social marketing analytics and operating real-time listening rooms in sectors such as technology, FMCG, retail, or telecom.
- Hands-on familiarity with current social analytics approaches, especially AI-enabled workflows.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to work through complex problems methodically.
- Skill in structured problem-solving and drawing sharp, useful insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, including comfort engaging with senior leadership and collaborating across functions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and scale social listening capabilities so they are more immediate, AI-enabled, and effective across the full content lifecycle.
- Advise marketing teams across product areas such as Search, Pixel, Gemini, and others by converting business questions into social research projects and insight reports.
- Partner with agencies and internal teams to produce in-depth, social-led analysis of content performance using AI-driven listening, monitoring, and measurement tools.
- Collaborate closely with social creative teams and external partners to modernize Google India’s approach across organic social, paid social, and influencer marketing.
- Oversee agency and vendor relationships and create a measurement-and-insights framework that can serve as a reference point for partner agencies and regional teams.
