Job description

Overview

We are seeking an assertive, well-organized Marketing Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract focused on managing a significant portfolio of B2B events in the UK. This pivotal role involves leading comprehensive marketing strategies for two major events, including a flagship exhibition attracting thousands of attendees and hundreds of exhibitors.

Role Responsibilities

  • Oversee complete marketing campaigns for two UK events across email, digital channels, social media, websites, print materials, and partnership collaborations.
  • Drive audience growth, registration increases, and target seniority levels.
  • Develop and manage multi-channel communications, including copywriting and content scheduling.
  • Provide hands-on support during event days onsite.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as content, sales, digital, and data specialists.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with key industry partners.
  • Optionally supervise a Marketing Assistant.
  • Handle a secondary, smaller co-located campaign with distinct website, messaging, and registration processes.

Candidate Profile

  • At least one year of experience as a Marketing Manager in events marketing or an equivalent position.
  • Strong expertise in exhibition or event marketing.
  • Capable campaign planner adept at starting independently and efficiently.
  • Exceptional copywriting abilities for emails, websites, social media, and print.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM and marketing automation platforms.
  • Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and skilled at juggling multiple tasks.
  • Effective and composed communicator, comfortable interacting with partners and stakeholders.
  • Independent working style with a willingness to seek support when necessary.
  • Candidates with B2C experience considered only if they possess solid exhibitions/events marketing background.

Team Environment and Culture

You will become part of a supportive and industrious marketing team comprising a strong Marketing Assistant (soon to progress), a Senior Marketing Executive with specialized sector knowledge, and centralized digital and data support. The management approach promotes collaboration, autonomy, and success, while the broader company atmosphere is fast-paced, energetic, and recognized for award-winning marketing efforts.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary of £50,000 per year.
  • Performance-related bonus linked to clearly defined KPIs.
  • Flexible work arrangement with three days required in the London office (Monday mandatory; Tuesday/Wednesday optional) and two days remote work.
  • Opportunity for domestic travel to event locations throughout the UK as necessary.

Additional Details

  • Preferred start period is late August or early September, with the latest possible start in October.
  • A comprehensive handover process will be provided.
  • Potential exists for transition to a permanent role as the organization expands.
