Job description

About ReSmart

Beginning from humble origins featuring a scooter and a pink bag, ReSmart has evolved into Australia's premier doorstep recycling platform. With over 450,000 completed pickups and more than 2.3 million kilograms of waste diverted from landfills, the company proudly counts partnerships with major organizations such as Qantas, Westpac, and Canva. Operating in every capital city across the country, ReSmart is aggressively expanding its footprint. Our core mission is straightforward: to simplify, broaden, and incentivize recycling for households, businesses, and councils throughout Australia and eventually beyond.

Role Overview

This position involves taking initiative and building marketing capabilities within a lean startup environment. As a Marketing Executive, you will be entrusted with significant responsibility and the autonomy to quickly experiment and innovate. You will manage comprehensive marketing efforts across three key channels: B2C, B2B, and B2G. Your role includes creating engaging content to attract real audience interest and supporting the growth of a mission-driven business. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will closely collaborate with founders, technology, operations, and sales teams. This role favors candidates experienced in agile, resourceful environments rather than those from segmented large team setups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle campaign and project management, including new service launches and geographical expansions from initial briefing to evaluation.
  • Develop and manage digital marketing strategies and growth experiments across owned and organic channels involving email, social media, and new platforms, personally executing initiatives rather than delegating.
  • Create original multimedia content—such as reels, carousels, written copy, and campaigns—being proficient both in front of and behind the camera, consistently monitoring performance metrics. A content portfolio is required.
  • Oversee CRM and retention marketing by creating newsletters and lifecycle customer journeys for all three channels, leading the loyalty program, and using data-driven personalization to boost engagement and reactivation.
  • Manage social media and community engagement on platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, staying ahead of trends to grow and energize the audience.
  • Provide sharp, compelling sales collateral like presentations, one-pagers, and case studies, and coordinate conference participations for B2B and B2G teams.
  • Contribute to and execute the comprehensive marketing plan across varied audiences with hands-on involvement throughout all stages.
  • Identify, establish, and activate strategic brand partnerships with environmentally conscious organizations to extend reach.
  • Support communications with investors and key stakeholders, including preparing investor updates.

Who Should Apply

Must-have qualities:

  • Prior experience within an early-stage or scaling startup, comfortable with constrained resources.
  • Strong foundation in digital marketing including reading and leveraging data, creating hypotheses, running hands-on tests, and iterating swiftly.
  • A demonstrated content creation portfolio showcasing original reels, campaigns, copy, or brand social media work rather than overseeing agencies.
  • Capability for both strategic planning and practical execution without hesitation, from drafting marketing plans to designing assets.
  • Native-level English proficiency, crucial to being the voice of the brand.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Experience marketing across diverse audiences such as B2C and B2B, adjusting message tone and channel mix accordingly.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms like Mailchimp and HubSpot.
  • A true passion for sustainability, circular economy, or impact-driven ventures.
  • Experience in brand or co-marketing alliances.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related disciplines.

Additional Information

  • Employment location is Sydney Barangaroo at WeWork with on-site presence required Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and flexible days on Tuesday and Thursday.
  • The role reports to the General Manager and collaborates closely with Technology, Operations, and Sales teams.
  • The candidate must hold full working rights to work full-time in Australia; ReSmart does not offer visa sponsorship for this position.

Application Process

Applicants should submit a resume along with a link to their content portfolio and express, in their own genuine words (bullet points or paragraphs), why they are a great fit for both the role and ReSmart. The emphasis is on authentic insight rather than corporate jargon or AI-generated submissions.
