Job description
Role Overview
Focusrite Group is looking for a part-time Marketing & Events Assistant based in El Segundo, California. This is a hands-on, exempt role offering $22 to $26 per hour for a 20-hour workweek, Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The position sits within a global music and audio technology company known for brands used by creators, engineers, artists, and studios around the world. It is designed for someone at the start of a marketing career who wants broad exposure to campaign execution, events, product logistics, and brand operations.
About the Company
Focusrite Group develops hardware and software for the music and audio industry. Its portfolio includes Focusrite, Novation, ADAM Audio, Oberheim, and Sequential. The US marketing team works with artists, influencers, dealers, and media to support campaigns, product launches, and live activations.
Marketing Product and Stock Management
In this role, you will support the movement and tracking of product used for demos, seeding, and marketing activities. That includes handling administrative steps in NetSuite, keeping loan records accurate, following internal policies, and making sure items are returned on time.
You will also find inventory in storage, prepare professional pack-outs, create FedEx labels, coordinate pickups and returns, and keep the storage area organized, clean, and fully ready for events and product use.
Event Coordination Support
You will help manage the full logistics flow for events, from locating and packing gear to logging, shipping, receiving, dismantling, and restoring equipment after each activation.
The job also includes monitoring and replenishing branded merchandise, cables, and event supplies so the team is always stocked when activations and event needs arise.
Marketing Campaign Support
You will assist with artist and influencer campaigns by helping source talent and coordinating NDAs and partnership paperwork.
Other duties include tracking campaign data for media and dealer partners, identifying useful trends for brand managers, and providing flexible support across artist, event, and campaign initiatives. You will also coordinate shipping for branded merchandise, point-of-sale materials, and other marketing items in partnership with Marketing, HR, and leadership.
Office and Local Support
The role includes local driving when needed, such as making FedEx drop-offs and pickups, collecting print materials, and sourcing supplies. A valid California driver’s license and proof of insurance are required.
You will also handle light office administration, including ordering supplies, supporting building management, and keeping the workspace functional and well stocked.
What Helps You Succeed
The ideal candidate enjoys technology and gets satisfaction from setting things up, troubleshooting, and making operations run smoothly. Strong ownership, attention to detail, and a proactive communication style are especially important.
This position is well suited to someone who likes organized systems, accurate tracking, polished event execution, and a role where no task is too small if it helps the team succeed.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should be interested in building a career in marketing, events, or brand management. Strong Microsoft Office skills are needed, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with NetSuite and Microsoft Teams is also preferred.
Background in event coordination, logistics, or another process-driven environment is beneficial. The role calls for exceptional organization, careful attention to detail, strong accountability, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, clear communication, adaptability, and a positive team-first attitude.
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on position. The selected candidate must be able to lift, carry, and move boxes and equipment up to 40 pounds, remain seated for long periods during administrative work, and be active for up to 50% of the workday while moving between office and storage areas, packing boxes, and staging gear.
Additional physical requirements include safe operation of a motor vehicle, use of hands and fingers for computer and office equipment, and the ability to bend, kneel, and reach as needed. Focusrite provides reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means shipments are completed correctly and on time, event materials are packed and returned without missing items, and NetSuite records remain current and reliable. It also means you communicate proactively, keep the storage unit organized, learn enough about at least two Focusrite Group brands to explain them clearly, identify process improvements, and finish assigned work by deadlines without reminders.
Why This Role Is Valuable
This position offers exposure to a globally recognized brand in the music industry, direct involvement in artist campaigns and brand activations, and reporting visibility to the VP of Marketing. It is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to build experience, earn trust through execution, and take on more responsibility over time.
Equal Opportunity
Focusrite Group is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building an inclusive workplace for all employees.
