Job description

About the Role

TRUE Hockey is a rapidly expanding, high-ambition hockey brand known for working with elite professional athletes and for pushing product and marketing innovation forward. The company is hiring a proactive, highly organized Marketing Coordinator — Retail & Partnerships to help execute product launches, retail programs, partnership activations, events, and channel marketing work.

This position is a central connector across Marketing, Sales, Product, and Sports Marketing. It suits someone who enjoys keeping priorities moving, supporting retailers and partners, and turning plans into finished work in a fast-paced environment. The role also expects comfort with AI-assisted workflows and a hands-on, ownership-driven approach.

Trade & Channel Marketing

  • Lead the planning and execution of trade shows and brand events from start to finish, including logistics, materials, vendor coordination, booth setup, and on-site delivery.
  • Handle retailer and field representative marketing requests quickly and accurately, including sell-in materials, point-of-purchase assets, and product information packs.
  • Create and send B2B email campaigns, managing contact lists, campaign execution, reporting, and ongoing improvement.
  • Coordinate production of sales catalogs, from gathering content through final delivery.
  • Assist in creating retail sell-in presentations and channel-specific marketing materials.

Partnership Activation

  • Run co-branded activation programs across TRUE’s national and international sports organization partnerships.
  • Coordinate partner co-marketing deliverables, including asset collection, approvals, rollout, and reporting.
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for the partner network and escalate relationship issues to the Marketing Manager when needed.

Retail Enablement

  • Own the retail training platform by creating, updating, and improving product training modules for retail floor staff across national and independent accounts.
  • Develop education content for retailers that helps sales teams present TRUE products with confidence.
  • Monitor platform usage and prepare performance reporting.

Digital Assets & Product Information

  • Maintain TRUE’s digital asset library, including organization, tagging, version control, and sharing with internal teams, retailers, and partners.
  • Keep product information accurate and current across all channels ahead of major retail selling periods.
  • Respond to asset and information requests within an established service level so sales teams are not delayed.

Marketing Operations

  • Brief the graphic designer on creative requests such as campaign assets, POP production, and presentations with clear context, scope, and deadlines.
  • Manage relationships with POP and print vendors, including quotes, proofing, approvals, and delivery timing.
  • Prepare and update presentations for internal and external use.
  • Keep the department’s work moving by tracking all active projects, identifying blockers, following up on approvals, and preventing work from stalling.

Project & Operations Coordination

  • Manage purchase orders, invoices, and budget tracking for trade and channel marketing initiatives.
  • Write and distribute creative briefs, campaign summaries, and status updates.
  • Support the Marketing Manager with scheduling, meeting preparation, and cross-functional communication.

Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing, trade marketing, events, or project coordination. They should be highly organized, responsive, and able to manage several priorities at once without losing track of details.

Strong written and verbal communication is important, along with hands-on experience using email marketing tools, project management platforms such as Asana or Monday.com, and AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude to work faster and more effectively.

Preferred experience includes work in sports, consumer goods, or specialty retail marketing, familiarity with digital asset management platforms such as Canto, experience with retail training or e-learning systems such as Endvr, and exposure to trade show or event logistics. A genuine interest in hockey and the hockey business is also preferred.

Education

Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related discipline is preferred.

Success Measures

By 90 days, the successful candidate should have a strong handle on the tradeshow calendar, active retailer requests, the asset library, and the retail training platform, while also knowing the key internal and external contacts and operating independently.

By 6 months, they should be proactively managing partner activations end to end, anticipating upcoming needs, and acting as the connection point between marketing and the commercial side of the business to help the department move faster.

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive health and dental coverage.
  • Hybrid work flexibility, with emphasis on results rather than location.
  • Employee equipment and gear allowance, plus pro-deal pricing on TRUE products.

Why TRUE

TRUE is growing quickly and building momentum as a brand trusted by elite players at every level. The role offers meaningful ownership, direct access to leadership, and an opportunity to help shape the future direction of the company.

Work Environment

The team is lean, fast-moving, and serious about delivering excellent work while keeping the atmosphere grounded. The company values innovation, collaboration, strong execution, mutual support, and the chance to be closely involved in a high-output brand environment.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is CAD 55,000 to CAD 65,000 per year.
