Job description
About the role
A Class Building Materials is looking for a hands-on, camera-ready Marketing Content Creator to help shape the brand’s social presence. This position is centred at the Ravenhall store, with content creation focused heavily on filming on-site and in the field. You will capture store activity, customer stories, and real landscaping and fencing work to create engaging digital content that feels authentic and platform-native.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys Reels and TikTok, understands how to turn everyday trade and customer moments into attention-grabbing content, and knows how to build a genuine audience rather than simply posting content. The role also includes supporting the sales team when required.
Key responsibilities
- Conceptualize, shoot, edit, and publish multimedia assets such as videos, photos, reels, and audio for social channels.
- Create and produce customer testimonials and project feature content that strengthens trust and brand credibility.
- Support audience growth, engagement, and reach through content that aligns with current trends and each platform’s style.
- Develop social captions, manage written copy, and contribute to content ideas, including opportunities for commercial integration.
- Track engagement and content outcomes, then use those insights to improve future campaigns and posts.
- Move between store sites and installation locations to capture photography and video of landscaping and fencing jobs.
- Assist the sales team with administrative or related tasks when needed.
Selection criteria
- Previous experience in an Australian hardware or trade retail setting will be considered a strong advantage.
- Agency background is desirable, though not essential.
- Ability to grow social media audiences is essential, including understanding how platforms, algorithms, and content strategies drive results.
- Comfort and fluency across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and YouTube, with an understanding of what performs best on each.
- A solid portfolio of short-form video work, from concept through filming, editing, and publishing.
- Practical skills with Canva and mobile editing tools such as CapCut, the Reels editor, and TikTok’s native editor; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred but not mandatory.
- Confident presenting and comfortable appearing both on camera and behind it.
- Strong visual storytelling ability and an eye for brand consistency while still bringing personality to the content.
- Awareness of trends, including new audio, formats, and cultural moments, with the ability to act on them quickly.
- Comfort experimenting with AI tools and effects to keep content fresh and forward-looking.
- Excellent writing skills for captions and copy that match the brand tone.
- Strong creativity, a careful eye for detail, and the ability to produce compelling digital content.
- Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, to help with sales-related administrative work.
Additional requirements
- A current driver’s licence is required, and having your own vehicle is preferred.
- Work-related fuel and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
- You must have full working rights in Australia.
- Willingness to complete a police check is required.
Talent approach
The employer values capability and creative output over formal qualifications or years of service. A strong portfolio that demonstrates content creation skills and the ability to grow and engage an audience is considered more important than where you studied or how long you have worked in the field.
