Role Summary

The Marketing Communications Manager will operate under the National Manager for Product & Marketing to design and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. This position requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, agencies, dealerships, and global teams to execute branding, product promotions, retail, and dealer marketing initiatives aligned with national sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead nationwide retail marketing strategies in cooperation with product and sales teams.
  • Supervise creative, media, social, and specialized agency partnerships to produce impactful campaigns aligned with brand and business targets.
  • Create brand and product marketing efforts that enhance Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ identity, coordinating with the Passenger Vehicles brand team as needed.
  • Manage full-cycle campaign execution for model launches and lifecycle activities, encompassing planning, stakeholder coordination, approvals, rollout, and post-campaign assessment.
  • Contribute to media planning and agency management to align strategies, budgets, and performance metrics with sales and branding objectives.
  • Oversee sponsorships, partnerships, and ambassador/influencer collaborations ensuring clear goals, effective activations, and measurable results.
  • Support dealership branding guidelines, dealer-aided asset systems, and National Co-Op marketing activities.
  • Coordinate market research initiatives including customer insight collection and competitor analysis to inform strategic marketing decisions.
  • Track campaign effectiveness and participate in regular reporting, strategic planning, and agency performance reviews.
  • Maintain control over marketing budgets, purchase orders, and approval processes.

Candidate Profile

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, or related fields are preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in marketing communications, brand management, or integrated marketing roles, preferably within automotive or dynamic consumer sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering integrated retail, brand, or product campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Strong expertise in media and channel strategy with the ability to translate plans into clear operational campaigns.
  • Experience managing agencies and programs related to sponsorships, partnerships, or brand ambassadors is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Proficient in campaign data analysis, marketing metrics, and leveraging insights for continuous campaign refinement.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker who can adapt and prioritize effectively while operating under pressure.
  • Knowledge of the Australian automotive market and dealership operations is advantageous.
