It has around 130 employees and more than 140 volunteers, all working toward a future where fewer lives are affected by preventable heart disease.
Role summary
This opportunity is designed for a marketer who can contribute fresh ideas, handle a varied workload, and help deliver high-quality communications and campaigns. You will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager, a Senior Marketing and Communications Officer, the wider marketing team, the Director of Marketing and Communications, and colleagues across the organisation to keep all communications aligned, consistent, and effective.
The department covers brand management, public relations and media, advertising, campaign delivery, internal communications, event coordination, and report publication, and it supports teams across the organisation with a wide range of marketing and communications needs.
Key duties
- Support delivery of the Irish Heart Foundation’s organisational strategy through marketing and communications activity.

- Help plan, coordinate, and deliver events, both online and face to face.

- Prepare management reports using Canva, PowerPoint, and other suitable tools.
- Work with agencies, suppliers, and external partners supporting the Foundation’s work.
- Attend and represent the team at internal and external meetings when required.
- Support internal communications by gathering content, designing, and sending the staff newsletter.
- Follow health and safety procedures and risk controls to protect yourself, colleagues, volunteers, and service users.
- Carry out other duties that may be assigned from time to time, in line with business needs.
Experience and skills
The ideal candidate will bring at least 2 years of experience in marketing and communications, either in an in-house environment or within an agency. Strong written and verbal communication ability is essential, along with hands-on experience creating, editing, and proofreading content for different channels.
You should be comfortable using design and communication tools such as Canva, as well as other tools for graphics, video, or photo work. Experience with CRM systems is important, and Blue CRM knowledge is preferred. The role also calls for a creative, practical problem-solver who works well with others, can juggle several priorities, and remains calm and efficient in a busy setting.
Strong project management, relationship-building, interpersonal, and presentation skills are all important, as is the confidence to bring new ideas that help raise awareness of the Irish Heart Foundation’s work and tell its story to key audiences.
