Job description
About Gabb
Gabb is focused on helping children enjoy the freedom of childhood while staying safely connected. The company creates kid-first technology that gives families a safer alternative to fully open smartphones. Its lineup includes Gabb Phones and Gabb Watches, as well as digital products such as Gabb Music and Music+. Based in Lehi, Utah, Gabb is a fast-growing, mission-led company with a team that enjoys building products that matter.
About the Role
Gabb is hiring a Marketing Analytics Engineer to operate at the meeting point of data engineering and marketing measurement. In this role, you will own the analytics foundation and insight delivery for marketing and growth, while also contributing to broader company reporting. As the company scales, you will help build the internal capability needed for marketing analytics, rather than simply executing pre-defined tasks.
You will report to the Director of Analytics and partner closely with the marketing team. Your work will span data modeling, pipeline upkeep, dashboard creation, test analysis, and identifying the real drivers behind growth. This position expects you to take initiative, decide what needs to be built, and deliver it.
Analytics Engineering and Data Modeling
- Take ownership of SQL-based data models, primarily in dbt, for marketing and business reporting, while keeping the code organized, documented, and covered by tests.
- Combine data from advertising platforms, CRM tools, ecommerce systems, and subscription platforms into dependable reporting layers.
- Build and maintain pipelines that deliver clean, reliable data to dashboards and analysis workflows.
- Work with the Director of Analytics on schema structure, naming standards, and modeling practices across the analytics stack.
- Support broader business and finance reporting in addition to marketing-focused analysis.
Marketing Analytics and Measurement
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports for key marketing metrics such as site traffic, conversion rates, funnel health, channel CAC, LTV, and cohort trends.
- Own reporting for site visits and conversions, interpret A/B tests, and monitor attribution outputs.
- Understand multi-touch attribution, media mix modeling, and incrementality testing, including their assumptions, limitations, and how to evaluate results critically.
- Work with the growth team to turn analysis into practical recommendations and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Set up tracking and help ensure measurement tools such as GA4, ad platform pixels, and event tracking are accurate and governed properly.
Dashboard Design and Reporting
- Design and build dashboards in tools such as Looker, Tableau, or similar BI platforms so they are dependable, easy to use, and genuinely useful.
- Own the marketing reporting rhythm and identify missing infrastructure before it becomes a request.
- Improve existing reports, keep what is valuable, and retire what is no longer used.
Experience and Skills
- 2 to 4 years of experience in analytics engineering, marketing analytics, or a closely related data role.
- Advanced SQL ability, including complex queries, window functions, common table expressions, and performance tuning awareness.
- Practical experience with dbt, or a strong willingness to learn it quickly, plus familiarity with modern warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or comparable tools.
- Exposure to EL tools and comfort handling raw data from ads, CRM, or ecommerce sources.
- Understanding of core marketing analytics ideas such as attribution, funnels, CAC, LTV, cohort analysis, A/B testing, and incrementality, including where these methods can fail.
- Experience creating dashboards in BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, Mode, Metabase, or similar systems.
- Working knowledge of GA4 and at least one paid media platform such as Google Ads or Meta.
- Ability to explain analytical results in plain language to marketing and business audiences.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools for scripts, queries, and workflows, while validating outputs carefully.
- Nice to have: Python, especially pandas or scripting; experience in direct-to-consumer, ecommerce, or subscription brands; exposure to MMM or MTA and their limitations; and experience working with or managing an external analytics vendor.
Who You Are
- You care deeply about data quality and prevent issues from reaching dashboards.
- You communicate clearly and can explain both the meaning and business impact of a metric.
- You are self-directed, able to set priorities, build a roadmap, and move work forward without heavy supervision.
- You are curious about business performance and marketing outcomes, not just technical data systems.
- You work well across technical analytics teams and business-facing marketing teams.
Location Requirement
Gabb is currently hiring only for candidates who live in Utah.
Why You’ll Love Gabb
- Mission-driven work centered on child safety and family connection.
- Strong work-life balance, including generous PTO, hybrid schedules, and more.
- Employer-paid insurance premiums of up to 100%, depending on tenure.
- Stock options and a 401(k) plan with employer matching.
- Fast-moving startup environment with opportunities to grow.
- Positive, energetic, collaborative culture with a strong team spirit.
- Pet insurance for your furry companion.
- Paid time off to support community involvement.
