Job description
Role overview
This part-time onsite role focuses on studying markets, understanding customer behavior, and turning research into practical insights that help guide strategy, product decisions, and marketing efforts. The position is based in Australia.
What you'll do
You will gather and review information from surveys, market studies, customer feedback, sales results, digital analytics, and other sources to spot opportunities and trends. A key part of the job is cleaning, organizing, and checking datasets, then converting the findings into clear recommendations for internal teams.
The role also involves producing market research reports, competitor reviews, dashboards, presentations, and concise executive summaries. You will keep track of competitor moves, pricing patterns, customer preferences, and new market developments so leadership can make informed decisions.
In addition, you will work with marketing, product, sales, and management teams to shape research goals, assess campaign performance, and support customer segmentation, product positioning, and market expansion work. You will also help improve research methods, reporting workflows, and data quality.
Ongoing monitoring of industry changes, consumer behavior, and economic conditions is expected so that research outputs stay relevant, accurate, and aligned with business goals.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a solid grasp of market research methods, consumer behavior analysis, competitive intelligence, and core business analysis concepts. You should be comfortable planning, carrying out, and interpreting both quantitative and qualitative research.
Working knowledge of spreadsheet tools, data analysis software, survey platforms, and reporting tools is needed. Familiarity with business intelligence systems, digital analytics tools, and data visualization techniques will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving ability is important, along with the skill to interpret complex data, identify meaningful patterns, and present business-ready insights.
Useful knowledge includes survey design, sampling approaches, statistical analysis, customer segmentation, market sizing, and performance measurement.
You should also have strong written and verbal communication skills, plus the ability to prepare professional reports, presentations, and research documents for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several research assignments at once while meeting deadlines in a fast-moving team environment are essential.
