Role Overview

The Marker Maker is tasked with generating and managing fabric markers using the Gerber Accumark software to maximize material efficiency. Markers must be customized for specific purchase orders and conform to vendor cutting room requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update sample and production markers via the Gerber Accumark system.
• Optimize material usage while respecting the limitations of patterns and fabric quality.
• Prepare and send plotted or electronic marker files to vendors according to set schedules.
• Calculate fabric yields to aid costing and ordering processes and document savings accordingly.
• Maintain and monitor the usage of plotter machines.

Candidate Profile

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in apparel design and manufacturing.
• 2 to 3 years of professional marker making experience.
• Proficiency in Gerber Accumark; familiarity with other CAD tools is a plus.
• Experience collaborating with cutting rooms, both automated and manual methods.
• Essential knowledge of pattern making and sewing techniques.
• Experience with outerwear manufacturing is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
• Effective multitasking abilities and team collaboration skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to foster relationships across departments.

Salary Information

The annual salary for this role ranges from 46000 to 64000 CAD, offered based on experience, skills, responsibilities, and market standards. This range serves as a guideline and does not constitute a guaranteed offer.
