The Marine Onboard Mechanic role is focused on keeping shipboard mechanical systems safe, reliable, and efficient. Working from Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara in Doha, Qatar, this position involves hands-on support for marine engines, propulsion equipment, and related machinery while the vessel is at sea or berthed.

Key responsibilities
- Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on marine engines, propulsion units, and other mechanical parts.
- Check fuel systems, hydraulic systems, pumps, and generators as part of regular maintenance routines.
- Identify mechanical faults and complete urgent repairs when breakdowns or emergencies occur.
- Keep maintenance documentation, service logs, and other records updated and accurate.
- Support major engine overhauls and maintenance work during dry-docking.
- Work in line with safety practices and environmental compliance requirements.
- Coordinate closely with engineers and the wider technical team aboard the vessel.
Requirements
- A technical diploma or certification in marine engineering, mechanics, or a similar discipline.
- Hands-on experience in marine mechanical maintenance; onboard experience is preferred.
- Good understanding of marine engine systems, including diesel engines and gas turbines.
- Ability to interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Basic welding and fabrication ability is an advantage.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in confined areas and changing sea conditions.
