Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and imaginative Manual & CAD Jewelry Designer to bring creative jewelry designs to life, from initial concept through to production-ready models. This individual should excel in both manual freehand sketching and advanced CAD modeling, ensuring designs are both visually beautiful and manufacturable. The designer will collaborate closely with multiple teams to deliver top-quality finished jewelry pieces.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft original freehand sketches for diverse jewelry pieces such as rings, earrings, pendants, necklaces, bangles, and bracelets.
• Generate detailed designs informed by client desires, industry trends, and seasonal collections.
• Transform manual sketches into precise digital illustrations using CorelDRAW software.
• Ensure designs are viable for production without compromising aesthetic appeal.
• Develop design presentations and concepts for product development.
• Create accurate 3D jewelry models using Matrix 8/9 (a Rhino-based platform).
• Translate approved sketches into production-ready CAD models.
• Calculate metal weights and gemstone requirements precisely.
• Prepare and validate STL files for 3D printing, casting, and CAM manufacturing.
• Adjust and refine existing CAD models responding to production or quality feedback.
• Maintain correct wall thickness, tolerance limits, stone placements, and manufacturing standards.
• Work in close coordination with Product Development, Merchandising, Production, and Quality Assurance to meet quality and functionality expectations.
• Manage digital CAD libraries, templates, and standard collections.
• Stay informed about global jewelry trends, client preferences, and emerging production technologies.
• Engage in the development of new collections and ongoing product innovation efforts.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Degree in Jewelry Design or related discipline.
• Extensive experience of 25 years in jewelry manufacturing; exceptional fresh graduates with strong portfolios may also be considered.
• Proficient in Matrix 8/9, Rhino, and CorelDRAW design software.
• Excellent skills in freehand sketching and rendering.
• Comprehensive understanding of jewelry manufacturing including CAD, CAM, casting, polishing, and stone setting.
• Knowledge of metal weight calculations, gemstone settings, tolerances, shrinkage, and feasibility for production.
• Strong creativity, visualization ability, meticulous attention to detail, and effective problem-solving.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in teams.
