Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Food Safety and Regulatory Affairs Specialist at the Managing Scientist level to join our Chemical Regulation and Food Safety Practice within one of our European offices (Ireland, UK, Germany, or Switzerland). This position offers the flexibility of remote work.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough food safety and allergenicity evaluations and establish acceptance criteria to guide consumer risk mitigation strategies, including communication plans.
• Prepare high-quality regulatory submissions covering food, feed, food contact materials, and additives, incorporating allergenicity assessments.
• Provide strategic, high-level risk management and regulatory guidance on international food safety laws and best practices to clients.
• Offer expert opinion on consumer risk potential, manufacturing site food safety capabilities during incidents and recalls, conduct due diligence prior to acquisitions or approvals, and recommend corrective actions post-event.
• Lead and coordinate complex, multifaceted projects effectively.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to business growth.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, food science, microbiology, nutrition, or a closely related field; advanced degrees are highly preferred.
• Over 10 years of significant experience in food or feed safety management and/or regulatory environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in scientific and regulatory frameworks governing food and feed safety within the UK and EU.
