Mission
As a vital member of the Regional Executive Committee, the Managing Director will spearhead the strategic plan, brand positioning, business expansion, and financial success of Cartier in Northern Europe. Embodying Cartier’s values, this role involves developing a comprehensive brand desirability strategy and executing it across a diverse and decentralized market, while assembling a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the market with a growth plan aligned with global and regional strategies, driving collaboration across markets and functions to foster a client-focused, performance-oriented culture adept at anticipating changes in the luxury sector.
- Formulate and advance the omnichannel strategy for the Maison, balancing retail priorities and specialist approaches to ensure profitability and development of local and international clientele, while aligning operations across boutiques, e-commerce, and partners.
- Manage marketing and communication strategies to boost brand presence and client engagement, leveraging digital tools and ensuring integrity. Enhance digital maturity by applying insights from omnichannel activities and deploying initiatives regionally and globally.
- Recruit, inspire, and retain a diverse team, nurturing a culture of belonging, innovation, and client centricity. Develop local talent strategies to support succession planning and establish Cartier as a preferred employer.
- Take full ownership of financial metrics including P&L, inventory, capital expenditures, and days sales outstanding to promote sustained growth and profitability.
- Act as the brand’s ambassador by cultivating local initiatives that strengthen brand equity and managing relationships with key public and private stakeholders to mitigate reputational risks.
Additional Details
- Internal and external engagement includes interacting with key opinion leaders, government representatives, and regional Cartier teams and headquarters.
- The Managing Director manages 3-5 direct reports across commercial, marketing, communication, and executive assistance roles.
- The retail network under responsibility includes 7 internal boutiques across Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic; 1 external boutique; and 60 external partner doors across Northern and Eastern Europe.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 20 years leadership experience as a Managing Director or equivalent in luxury or lifestyle sectors, demonstrating success in brand development and market growth.
- Comprehensive knowledge of luxury market trends, consumer behaviors, and retail dynamics.
