Job description
Company Overview
MOSES MATI'S ORPHANS FOUNDATION AFRICA DEVELOPMENT LIMITED is a nonprofit working to improve the wellbeing and future opportunities of orphaned and vulnerable children across Africa. Its mission is to help provide essentials such as shelter, education, healthcare, and emotional support, while also enabling communities to build practical, long-term solutions. The organization collaborates with local and global partners to design and deliver development programs that are ethical, transparent, and focused on measurable impact. It values accountability, cooperation, and lasting social progress, and provides leaders and volunteers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to children’s welfare.
Role Summary
The Managing Director / CEO / Chairperson will lead the foundation’s strategy, governance, and overall direction. This is an unpaid, on-site volunteer position in Dubai. The role is responsible for guiding operations, shaping long-range plans, and keeping the organization aligned with its mission and principles.
Key Duties
Responsibilities include supervising program development, managing budgets and resource allocation, strengthening relationships with donors, partners, and community stakeholders, and driving fundraising efforts. The role also includes representing the foundation in public settings, ensuring legal, regulatory, and ethical compliance, mentoring the leadership team, fostering an inclusive workplace culture, and providing regular updates to the board and other stakeholders.
Required Profile
The ideal candidate should bring strong leadership and governance experience, particularly in nonprofit or mission-led environments. They should be able to set priorities, plan strategically, and turn objectives into action. Experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and partnership building with NGOs, government bodies, or corporate sponsors is important. A good understanding of child welfare, community development, or social impact work, especially in African or international settings, is preferred. The role also calls for strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, along with the ability to work in Dubai and collaborate across cultures and functions. Integrity, empathy, and a genuine commitment to the rights and wellbeing of orphaned and vulnerable children are essential. Academic exposure in nonprofit management, international development, social work, business, or a related field is an added advantage, and prior board-level, executive director, or CEO experience in a nonprofit or social enterprise is highly valuable.
