Job description
Role Overview
The TradeTrust team, part of the Sectoral Transformation Group, is seeking a Manager to support its Digital Utility initiatives, focusing on Government-to-Government collaborations, international standards creation, as well as legal and accreditation issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead Government-to-Government projects and pilot studies in partnership with stakeholders including trading firms, financial institutions, logistics providers, and business services to drive sector transformation goals.
- Champion IMDA's positions in the formulation of international standards by working closely with global experts at worldwide forums.
- Establish and nurture strategic alliances with global organizations such as the International Chamber of Commerce.
- Provide support on legal aspects and matters related to protection and indemnity within the team.
- Conduct research on evolving policies and technological trends that impact trade digitalization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, earning a reputation as a reliable expert on trade digitalisation both internally and externally.
- Engage in projects beyond immediate responsibilities to contribute to broader organizational objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Educational background in international trade, economics, engineering, or computer science is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in international relations and information and communication technologies, especially pertaining to global trade.
- Solid understanding of cross-border trade mechanisms; experience with trade financing processes is advantageous.
- Strong skills in managing and engaging with various stakeholders.
- Proficient in project management, including oversight of budgets, timelines, scope, and task delegation.
- Excellent communication abilities, particularly in English; proficiency in an additional language is considered a plus.
- Capable of working autonomously or collaboratively with a focus on achieving results.
