Role Summary

The Manager, Social Media is an on-site contract position supporting franchise series within the Paramount Television Marketing Group. This role is highly hands-on and works closely with the Director to manage everyday social content execution for assigned series. The position is responsible for keeping content production, review, and delivery aligned with strategic goals and for moving initiatives from planning through publication.

Key Responsibilities

This role includes turning strategy into actionable content requests, coordinating creation and approvals, keeping schedules on track, and using performance learnings to improve future work.

Briefing and Planning

  • Convert the Director’s strategy into practical content instructions with clear details on platform, format, timing, and other requirements.
  • Oversee batch planning for clips, comps, and campaign assets.
  • Work with Campaign Management and Project Management to align creative plans with deadlines and business priorities.

Content Creation and Ideation

  • Actively manage the development of content from concept to completion.
  • Bring new ideas to the table and refine concepts based on real-time market feedback.
  • Lead execution of campaign plans in alignment with IPT and brand leadership.
  • Support the Director on partner-driven projects.
  • Make sure final creative work reflects the intended strategy.

Scheduling and Routing

  • Manage content scheduling and delivery timelines in coordination with coordinators.
  • Route materials through the approval process efficiently.
  • Keep timelines progressing and raise potential issues early.
  • Regularly review the content calendar and shift deliverables when needed to keep work moving.

Tracking and Optimization

  • Monitor performance and delivery against established goals.
  • Apply insights to improve content, formats, and execution.
  • Share learnings with the wider team to help shape ongoing strategy.

Qualifications

  • 4-7+ years of experience in social media, preferably in media, entertainment, marketing, or creative environments.
  • Strong enthusiasm for television and pop culture, including awareness of reality programming and current trends.
  • A demonstrated history of turning creative ideas into successful social media initiatives.
  • Strong command of major social platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X, and emerging channels.
  • Excellent organizational ability and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Comfort handling multiple priorities and shifting quickly in a fast-paced setting.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • A proactive, flexible, and solution-focused approach.

Technical and Practical Skills

  • Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.
  • Experience with Slack, Zoom, and other collaboration tools; Airtable is considered an advantage.
  • Exposure to expense reporting and basic budget tracking is required.

Additional Details

Regular in-office attendance is required for this role.
