Position Overview

This job share role offers a balanced work arrangement focused on overseeing procurement and contract management activities to support long-term recovery and resilience projects for communities affected by disasters in Queensland.

Organizational Context

The Community Recovery unit leads human and social recovery efforts for Queensland residents impacted by disasters, delivering financial assistance, emotional support, and recovery programs. The Long-Term Recovery and Resilience (LTRR) team is responsible for developing and managing these extended programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage comprehensive procurement and contract management processes under the Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
• Oversee eligibility assessments and financial compliance reviews of suppliers funded through DRFA.
• Provide strategic advice and operational oversight to facilitate effective decision-making and successful program delivery.
• Navigate complex and dynamic environments, balancing multiple priorities while delivering quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
• Act as a critical liaison to negotiate and manage sensitive, complex stakeholder interactions.
• Ensure robust risk management practices and strict adherence to Queensland Government policies and frameworks.

Candidate Profile

While formal requirements are not mandatory, ideal candidates will possess knowledge of end-to-end procurement and contract management within human and social services, ideally in the public sector. Strong relationship-building and negotiation prowess are essential to foster fruitful stakeholder collaborations. Financial literacy, collaborative leadership style, and commitment to positive team culture and equitable task distribution are highly valued. Strategic problem-solving skills, risk awareness, and compliance adherence underpin the successful candidate's approach.

Employment Details

This part-time temporary position is offered as a job share opportunity (five days per fortnight) through 30 June 2028, with possible extension. Working days and hours will be agreed upon collaboratively to maintain continuous coverage. There is potential for transition to full-time based on operational needs; candidates must be flexible to accommodate potential changes in work hours.
