Role Overview

Girls Inc. is seeking a Manager of Talent and Learning based in Indianapolis, IN. Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, this position helps strengthen headquarters so it can deliver efficient, effective support and resources to affiliates across the network.

Position Summary

This role is responsible for creating, rolling out, and managing learning and development initiatives that improve employee capability, knowledge, and overall performance. The position connects talent development work with organizational priorities, supports productivity, and encourages a workplace culture centered on ongoing learning and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

The Manager of Talent and Learning will identify development needs, design and deliver learning solutions, and coordinate all aspects of program execution. The role also includes managing outside training partners, tracking program results, overseeing the learning budget, and using learning technology to scale programs across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work with leaders, managers, and staff to identify skill gaps and development opportunities across the organization.
  • Build and facilitate learning experiences such as workshops, virtual modules, seminars, and team-building sessions suited to different audiences and learning styles.
  • Select, engage, and oversee external vendors and consultants that provide training and development services.
  • Plan schedules, coordinate logistics, and support collaboration across departments to ensure smooth program delivery.
  • Measure program impact, collect feedback, and use data to strengthen learning offerings over time.
  • Track the talent and learning budget, estimate future costs, and use resources responsibly.
  • Create individual and team development plans, succession strategies, and leadership pipeline programs.
  • Make sure all learning initiatives comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Use learning management systems and digital learning tools to expand and improve training delivery.
  • Promote a workplace culture that values learning, professional development, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related discipline; advanced study or certifications such as SHRM or PMP are considered an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience in talent development, learning and development, or a closely related HR role.
  • Strong working knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design approaches, and LMS platforms.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, project management, adaptability, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to review performance data and training metrics to evaluate effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is $65,000 to $68,000.
