Role Summary
This hybrid role requires residency within 100 miles of one of Mayo Clinic’s campuses in Jacksonville, FL; Phoenix, AZ; or Rochester, MN to accommodate occasional onsite duties. The position’s primary focus is to lead initiatives advancing education, change management, and Lean process improvement within Revenue Cycle divisions.
The manager directs and empowers specialized teams focused on employee learning, organizational change, and Lean methodology implementation.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead professional and supervisory personnel in Revenue Cycle, participating in strategic planning at an enterprise level.
- Translate organizational vision into actionable, effective outcomes.
- Delegate tasks and authority appropriately to ensure execution of departmental functions.
- Oversee daily operations across multiple functions and possibly multiple sites, providing resources and guidance.
- Serve as a catalyst for process improvement, facilitating new ideas and mediating complex issues.
- Maintain awareness of external environmental trends affecting the department.
- Engage in managing the Enterprise Revenue Cycle by chairing or serving on projects, task forces, councils, and committees.
- Act as liaison between various sections, departments, and external agencies.
- Promote customer service excellence and foster collaboration among physicians and administrative partners.
- Build cohesive teams and participate in employee retention strategies.
- Travel as required by assignments.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with at least eight years of experience, including a minimum of two years in financial leadership; or Master’s degree with six years of relevant experience including two years of financial leadership.
- Alternatively, a candidate with twelve years of relevant experience including two years of financial leadership may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Prior leadership in healthcare revenue cycle preferred.
- Professional certifications related to financial management or healthcare are advantageous, with Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) certification particularly valued.
- Experience leading adult education programs, organizational change initiatives, or applying Lean continuous improvement methods within healthcare or revenue cycle contexts is highly desirable.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without need for current or future sponsorship by Mayo Clinic (e.g., citizenship, permanent residency, refugee status).
