About Caldera Medical

Caldera Medical focuses on enhancing women's quality of life by providing innovative surgical solutions for conditions such as stress urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, polyps, and fibroids. Their products are widely trusted by surgeons globally, and they lead a humanitarian effort targeting treatment for one million underserved women by 2027. The company values integrity, prioritizing patients, customers, employees, and community above profits, and fosters a supportive, community-driven culture.

Role Overview

The Manager, National Field Sales Training is a field-based position with a home office conveniently located near a major airport. This role involves leading the design and delivery of Caldera's Sales Associate (SA) training program nationwide. The individual will spend most weeks in the field, working alongside both new and experienced Sales Associates to enhance their knowledge of products, clinical applications, and sales techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct direct, one-on-one in-field training for Sales Associates three to four days per week, supporting them in customer interactions, clinical procedures, and account calls.
  • Manage the SA onboarding curriculum, ensuring consistent introduction to product range, clinical positioning, and the company's sales approach for new hires.
  • Develop and lead virtual training sessions approximately two to four hours monthly, incorporating varied session lengths and peer-led "teach-back" learning activities.
  • Participate in or facilitate weekly team calls as part of ongoing virtual training engagement.
  • Identify skill shortages within the sales team through field evaluations and collaborate with Regional Sales Managers and Strategic Account Managers to address these gaps.
  • Continuously update and improve training materials and delivery methods to align with new products, market competition, and selling strategies.
  • Provide monthly reports detailing time spent training in-field and virtually, along with plans for upcoming training activities; reports are due by the second Friday each month.
  • Work closely with the Director of Physician Education & Commercial Development and the training team to ensure alignment with overall sales training goals and company priorities.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Caldera's products, relevant anatomy and procedures, and the competitive landscape within the urogynecology device field.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • At least three years of experience in medical device sales, clinical sales support, or field sales training, preferably within urology, gynecology, or related surgical specialties.
  • Experience as a formal field sales trainer, preceptor, or in sales enablement roles is advantageous.
  • Proven success in onboarding and nurturing early-career sales professionals.
  • Sound understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design, capable of translating complex clinical content into practical training modules.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and coaching abilities, effective in both face-to-face and virtual contexts.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility with Sales Associates, Managers, and clinical customers during procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, managing an extensive travel schedule alongside consistent reporting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in a professional context.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while in the field.

Additional Information

This position involves significant travel, including up to 60% overnight travel to various U.S. regions (Northeast, Southeast, Central, and West) to support sales training and onboarding.

Benefits

  • Medical and dental coverage for employees and their families.
  • Vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 4% company matching after 90 days.
  • Basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance.
  • Unlimited vacation policy.
  • Six weeks paid maternity leave.
  • Ten paid holidays annually.
  • A supportive and caring work environment valuing every team member.

Company Culture

  • A supportive, family-like atmosphere rather than a large corporate structure.
  • All employees have input with management and participate in community service efforts in Southern California.
  • Focused on women's health initiatives putting underserved women at the forefront.
  • Commitment to treating one million women with incontinence by 2027.
