Hims & Hers is a digital health and wellness company focused on making care more affordable, accessible, and tailored to each person. The business emphasizes customer-first healthcare from diagnosis through treatment and delivery, and it operates as a public company listed on the NYSE under the ticker HIMS.

The Manager, Legal Operations will report to the Director, Head of Legal Operations and will be a key contributor in strengthening and scaling the Legal function. This person will manage the legal budget, oversee outside counsel and vendor operations, and drive efficiency through better processes, systems, reporting, and adoption of technology. The role requires close collaboration with attorneys, internal partners, and business teams to keep Legal operating in a practical, high-quality, business-minded way.

This is a very hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys building structure, managing legal tools, and converting data into useful insights.

Key responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the legal department budget, including planning, tracking, forecasting, and variance review with Finance.
  • Run the outside counsel management program, including firm relationship management, enforcement of outside counsel rules, rate discussions, and matter budgeting.
  • Act as the main administrator for the e-billing platform and matter management system, while maintaining clean data and training the legal team on these tools.
  • Lead the monthly accruals process with Finance by tracking unbilled outside counsel spend, collecting estimates from law firms, and supporting accurate month-end reporting.
  • Manage vendor selection and RFP efforts for legal technology and outside counsel panels.
  • Assess and roll out AI and automation solutions that reduce routine administrative work for attorneys.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports that help leadership understand legal spend and trends.
  • Spot and execute process improvements across legal workflows.
  • Design and implement changes that improve Legal’s scalability, efficiency, and overall impact.
  • Act as a dependable partner and advisor to attorneys and business stakeholders on operational best practices.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in legal operations, legal project management, or a closely related area.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in or closely with an in-house legal team, with solid understanding of outside counsel management, e-billing, and financial operations; global exposure is a plus.
  • Direct experience using e-billing software, preferably Brightflag, and familiarity with matter management platforms.
  • Strong comfort with legal technology, including administration, implementation, and user adoption.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects from start to finish, along with change management capability.
  • Excellent organization and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and a history of turning data into practical insights and recommendations.
  • A proactive, solution-focused mindset with evidence of process improvement and measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently while forming effective working relationships across teams.

Benefits and perks

  • Competitive pay plus equity for full-time positions.
  • Unlimited paid time off, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days.
  • Comprehensive health coverage, including medical, dental, vision, and parental leave.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
  • 401(k) plan with employer matching contribution.
  • Offsite team retreats.
