This permanent, full-time, onsite role offers the chance to work on internal audit, risk consulting, and remediation engagements, including some of New Zealand’s more complex work linked to Holidays Act compliance and payroll risk. The position suits someone who wants to broaden their experience beyond conventional internal audit assignments while helping clients improve their governance, controls, and risk management.
What you will do
- Run internal audit and risk consulting assignments from planning through delivery and final reporting, while building strong working relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
- Provide clear, practical advice that helps clients strengthen risk management, internal controls, and governance, and ensure work aligns with internal audit standards and relevant regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to remediation programmes, including work connected to NZ Holidays Act compliance and payroll-related risk.
- Coach and support junior team members, encouraging development and a strong team culture.
- Manage projects and budgets while delivering high-quality risk and internal audit outputs.
Experience and background
Success in this role typically requires 5 to 10 years of experience in internal audit, risk advisory, or a comparable area, along with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability. Experience leading projects and teams is important, as is exposure to professional services or to a large and complex organisation. The role also values familiarity with Holidays Act remediation or payroll-risk work.
Qualifications and preferred profile
A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred. Professional certifications such as CIA, CISM, CISSP, CBCP, CIPP, CPA, CISA, or CA are also valued. New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency is preferred for this position.
Benefits
- Access to world-class learning, career development, and future-focused training.
- Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid and reduced-hours options.
- Comprehensive benefits such as an annual wellness incentive, 8 additional weeks of flex leave, and up to 26 weeks of gender-neutral paid parental leave.
- Opportunity to work in a diverse, inclusive environment with strong support for different backgrounds and identities.
- Competitive pay aligned to your skills and experience; salary is negotiable.
