About the Role
The Manager in Training position supports the Store Manager in managing the store's day-to-day operations and administrative responsibilities at Hibbett I City Gear in Ozark, Alabama. This role requires a thorough understanding of all store departments and product categories, assisting with achieving store objectives and upholding company policies and standards as outlined in the visual and policy manuals. Acting as a brand ambassador, the Manager in Training focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and promoting sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager with safeguarding store assets and managing operational functions.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop strategies for sales, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and staffing.
- Manage the store fully in the Store Manager's absence, ensuring smooth operations.
- Provide guidance and expertise to staff and customers across all departments as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels, sales data, and expenses to maintain profitability in all departments.
- Supervise department teams to ensure responsibilities and company standards are met.
- Maintain communication with the Store Manager regarding inventory movements and customer purchasing trends.
- Deliver high-quality customer service consistently per the customer service manual.
- Conduct general administrative duties and receive training to assume Store Manager responsibilities.
- Actively promote and sell Hibbett I City Gear products and services.
- Adhere strictly to all internal policies, procedures, and company standards to protect store assets and financial information.
- Identify and report any potential fraud risks to management promptly.
Supervisory Duties
Directly supervise employees during the Store Manager's absence, performing tasks such as interviewing, training, work assignment, and conflict resolution in line with company policies and legal requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Prior retail experience, preferably within footwear and athletic apparel sectors.
- One to three years of experience in customer service roles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Competency in team management and achieving sales and profit targets.
- Self-motivated with the initiative to proactively undertake important tasks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks accurately.
- Team-oriented with a passion for superior customer service and sales excellence.
Additional Information
