Job description

Role overview

A well-established banking client in Doha is seeking a Manager for Financial Crime Compliance and Fraud Assurance. The position focuses on strengthening oversight across the bank’s control environment for AML, sanctions, KYC, and fraud, with responsibility for improving assurance coverage and highlighting control weaknesses.

What you will do

  • Carry out full-scope assurance assessments covering financial crime compliance and fraud controls, including AML, KYC, sanctions, onboarding, and fraud detection and prevention measures.
  • Evaluate whether controls are properly designed and whether they work effectively in practice, while spotting gaps, weaknesses, and regulatory exposure across different business areas.
  • Build and run a risk-led assurance programme that covers financial crime and fraud risk, focusing on higher-risk products, channels, and customer groups.
  • Follow up remediation actions, check that findings are resolved on time, and escalate significant issues to senior governance and leadership stakeholders.
  • Produce clear assurance reports for senior compliance, fraud, and risk leaders, summarising key findings, recurring themes, and risk observations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a similar field is required; professional credentials such as CAMS, ICA, CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), or an equivalent qualification are preferred.
  • At least 6 to 10 years of experience in financial crime compliance, fraud risk, AML, sanctions, or assurance work within banking or financial services.
  • Good working knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks, fraud risk practices, and sanctions requirements in Qatar or other comparable GCC markets.
  • Background in assurance, control testing, internal audit, or second-line monitoring in financial crime and/or fraud-related areas.
  • Strong ability to manage stakeholders and confidently engage with, influence, and challenge senior compliance, fraud, and risk teams.
