About the Role
This role is a strong fit for a professional from the insurance domain who wants to build deeper expertise in IFRS 17 delivery and related accounting transformation work. The position centers on helping insurance businesses implement IFRS 17 and address the associated operating model changes across processes, technology, data and reporting, people, governance, and controls.
Location options mentioned for this role include Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore. The job is based in Gurugram, India.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with IFRS and Ind AS implementation work across BFSI clients, with primary emphasis on the insurance sector.
- Prepare technical documentation covering major reporting requirements such as IFRS 17, IFRS 16, IFRS 9, and related standards.
- Review the current business setup, identify gaps, and recommend process and solution improvements for IFRS 17, IFRS 16, IFRS 9, and connected areas.
- Contribute heavily to the design, planning, and rollout of accounting and reporting systems from both business and user viewpoints.
- Translate business needs into models and use cases that can support configuration testing and output validation.
- Help troubleshoot issues found during system testing, integration testing, performance testing, and UAT.
- Rework accounting and reporting workflows so that post-implementation reporting timelines are practical and aligned.
- Collaborate closely with the team, guide junior colleagues, and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
Requirements
- Qualified CA or an equivalent professional qualification, along with at least 5 years of financial reporting experience in the insurance industry.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS standards, especially IFRS 17, IFRS 16, and IFRS 9.
- Hands-on exposure to finance processes such as finance operations, month-end or period-end close, and reporting.
- Practical experience delivering IFRS 17 implementation projects will be considered an advantage.
- Exposure to ETL, data visualization, or reporting tools will be beneficial.
- Willingness to learn, share knowledge, and work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to stay organized, remain flexible, and handle pressure calmly.
