Job description

Role overview

The Manager, Business Support is responsible for leading the Business Support stream and ensuring a strong standard of service across planning and governance, procurement, financial and management accounting, human resources, and general administration.

This position plays an important part in supporting the regional management team and other functional streams so the organisation can deliver reform initiatives and achieve its strategic priorities.

The role also oversees business services that help the Queensland Ambulance Service provide timely, appropriate, and high-quality pre-hospital care and transport services to the community in the region.

What you will bring

  • Proven leadership ability, with experience coordinating and delivering business support services that improve operational performance.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, consultation, and collaboration skills, with a track record of building effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience establishing practical governance arrangements across corporate support areas such as assets and facilities, procurement, finance, human resources, and workplace health and safety.
  • A demonstrated record of leading organisational change and service reform in a complex operational setting with competing demands and limited resources.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving capability, including the ability to interpret financial and performance data to support continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to fair and ethical workplace practices, employment equity, cultural diversity, and occupational health and safety.

Mandatory and other conditions

  • The position may require travel for official duties.
  • A current C class driver licence may be required.
  • Although not required, tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in a business-related field will be viewed favourably.
  • Applications will remain active for 12 months.
