Job description

About Deloitte

Deloitte is among the world’s largest and most respected professional services organizations. The firm has earned multiple recognitions in recent years, including Best Employer in the Middle East, Best Consulting Firm, and the Middle East Training & Development Excellence Award.

Our purpose

The organization aims to create meaningful impact every day by focusing on what matters most for clients, people, and society. It delivers fresh insights, helps solve complex business challenges, and supports sustainable growth. The culture is designed to give talented professionals a strong career experience while promoting inclusion and collaboration. Deloitte also works to strengthen trust in markets, support integrity in organizations, and contribute to communities.

Shared values

  • Lead the way.
  • Act with integrity.
  • Care for one another.
  • Promote inclusion.
  • Work together to deliver measurable impact.

Role overview: Audit & Assurance Manager

In this position, you will take ownership of audit engagement delivery and strengthen your capabilities across stakeholder management, technical review, and team coordination. The role requires a strong professional mindset, attention to risk, and the ability to guide audit work with confidence and judgment.

Key responsibilities

  • Earn confidence and credibility by balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders while constructively challenging engagement issues.
  • Examine transaction flow documentation and test relevant controls early in the audit so the planned approach and the entity’s control environment can be assessed in time.
  • When controls are ineffective, determine suitable alternative testing and apply professional skepticism to consider wider implications such as fraud risk, communication with those charged with governance, and potential misstatements.
  • Spot opportunities to add value by bringing in wider firm expertise and specialists where helpful, thereby increasing impact and client value.
  • Take an active role in group risk assessment and in defining work assigned to component auditors, including preparing referral instructions and evaluating responses promptly.
  • Maintain strong file hygiene throughout the audit, ensure open points are cleared by completion, and select an appropriate file structure for each engagement, including group audits.
  • Coordinate early with scheduling and the broader engagement team, and clearly communicate responsibilities and deadlines to all team members.
  • Share the project plan and any dependencies with management at the start of the audit, including possible consequences such as timeline or fee impacts if the plan changes, and restate expectations before key deadlines.
  • Review audit work with skepticism, checking whether testing results sufficiently challenge the assumptions and data supporting management assertions.
  • Ensure adherence to auditing and accounting standards, applicable laws and regulations, ethical requirements, independence rules, and the firm’s quality control procedures.

Leadership expectations

  • Develop a deeper understanding of the organization’s purpose and values while looking for ways to create impact.
  • Show commitment to learning and development and represent the brand positively to help attract strong talent.
  • Take personal accountability for performance and stay focused on delivering results.
  • Build effective communication and relationship skills while understanding how daily work supports team and business priorities.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of experience in public accounting, auditing, audit management, budgeting, business planning, or business strategy, preferably with a Big 4 audit firm.
  • A degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting best practices and International Financial Reporting Standards, with the ability to confirm that the relevant accounting and auditing standards have been applied consistently and supported by appropriate evidence.
  • Capability to expand personal expertise and help develop others in Deloitte tools, audit methodology, and applicable professional accounting and auditing standards through formal learning and on-the-job training.
  • Ability to review audit documentation thoroughly for completeness, accuracy, and adequacy, and to ensure work papers are archived on time.
  • International accounting qualification required: CA, ACCA, or CPA.
  • Fluency in English in reading, speaking, and writing.
  • Preference for bilingual candidates who can work in Arabic and English.
