Role Overview
A well-established food manufacturer in County Cork is hiring a Maintenance Technician to strengthen its Engineering team. This position is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional who wants to work in a modern food production setting and contribute to equipment reliability, reduced downtime, and ongoing improvement efforts.
What You Will Do
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production and packaging machinery.
- Identify mechanical and electrical issues and complete repairs quickly to keep stoppages to a minimum.
- Maintain a range of equipment, including motors, drives, sensors, conveyors, and other production systems.
- Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and improvement projects.
- Keep maintenance documentation up to date and help manage spare parts.
- Partner with production teams to improve machine efficiency and output.
- Carry out all work in compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards.
What the Employer Is Looking For
- A recognised trade background in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Maintenance, or a similar field.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, food production, industrial, or engineering environments.
- Strong diagnostic ability and a practical approach to solving equipment problems.
- Hands-on experience with automated production machinery.
- Working knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and standard maintenance practices.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Clear communication and solid organisational skills.
- A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.
