We are looking for a dependable and practical Maintenance Team Member - Handyperson to become part of the hotel maintenance team. The role is central to keeping the building, guest rooms, shared spaces, and surrounding facilities operating smoothly, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, comfort, and functionality for both guests and staff.
Role summary
In this position, you will carry out a range of general building upkeep tasks such as gib stopping, carpentry, basic plumbing, painting, and electrical testing. You will also handle routine repair and maintenance requests as they arise. The role requires someone who can work effectively on their own, particularly across weekend shifts.
Key responsibilities
You will be expected to assess maintenance concerns, keep records updated, and support the smooth running of the property through timely repairs and clear communication.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal applicant will bring practical experience in hotel, facility, or general building maintenance, along with a broad hands-on skill set and a strong awareness of safe work practices. Good communication, problem-solving ability, and basic computer skills are also important. Candidates must have the legal right to work in New Zealand, as sponsorship is not available.
