Job description
Role overview
Amazon is hiring a Maintenance Planner to support the Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) function at its largest robotics site in Australia. The role sits in a highly automated environment and focuses on keeping equipment reliable so fulfilment and delivery operations run smoothly.
You will be responsible for planning preventive maintenance, coordinating spare parts, and using operational data to improve asset performance and efficiency. The position works closely with technicians, site leadership, and engineering teams to make sure maintenance work is organised well and important equipment remains available when required.
This is a chance to bring together technical understanding, planning capability, and a continuous-improvement mindset in a fast-moving setting where your contribution directly affects site performance.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain preventive maintenance schedules that support high equipment availability and reliability.
- Administer the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), keeping asset records, maintenance plans, and work orders accurate and current.
- Serve as the site’s go-to expert for CMMS usage, supporting local engineering teams with guidance and troubleshooting.
- Align maintenance plans with technicians and operational teams to reduce disruption and improve efficiency.
- Oversee spare-parts stock, including reorder planning, inventory control, tracking, and optimisation of holding levels.
- Review equipment data, maintenance records, and reliability trends to spot opportunities for improvement.
Basic qualifications
- Background in planning, scheduling, and auditing maintenance work, either as a hands-on engineer or as a maintenance planner.
- Hands-on experience with CMMS tools.
- Experience managing spare-parts inventory.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred qualifications
Preferred qualifications are not mandatory. Candidates who meet the basic requirements are encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical subject, operations, business administration, or another related discipline from an accredited university.
- Trade qualification or degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Experience with the Infor enterprise asset management (EAM) platform.
- Exposure to the rollout of a new CMMS system.
- Experience training or coaching coworkers.
