Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join the Singapore Airlines Engineering Division, stationed in London (Heathrow), UK under local employment terms. This role involves overseeing technical aircraft operations and ensuring airworthiness compliance for SIA aircraft across European stations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage daily aircraft technical handling activities across assigned locations in Europe, ensuring adherence to airworthiness regulations.
- Supervise the performance of Technical Handling Agents and Ground Handling Agents, ensuring they meet SIA’s standards for safety, punctuality, and key performance indicators.
- Authorize aircraft certification and maintenance releases as required for SIA aircraft.
- Coordinate efficiently with all relevant parties during delays and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) scenarios to expedite service restoration.
- Oversee spares inventory management including procurement, reporting, and restocking aligned with operational plans.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with aviation authorities, airlines, agents, vendors, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
- Track and analyze operational metrics such as delays, audit findings, and monthly reports, proposing improvements where necessary.
- Support budgeting processes, conduct audits, evaluate vendors, ensure asset maintenance, and manage administrative tasks including staff oversight.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Holder of CAAS SAR-66 Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) preferred, with minimum five years’ experience as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer working on at least two types of SIA aircraft in line maintenance environments. Foreign AML holders eligible for conversion to CAAS SAR-66 are also considered.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Singapore Air Navigation Order, Singapore Airworthiness Requirements, and Quality Systems.
- Proficient technical expertise and troubleshooting skills related to SIA-operated aircraft.
- Experience in budget preparation and fiscal management is advantageous.
- Capable of performing effectively under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, including willingness to work irregular or extended hours as needed.
- Independent, adaptable, resourceful, with excellent communication skills.
- Ready to relocate to London, UK and available for travel on short notice.
