Role overview
A leading medical device manufacturer in Longford is looking for a Maintenance / Facility Technician to keep plant equipment and building systems running smoothly. This position plays an important part in supporting manufacturing continuity, improving reliability, and helping reduce downtime across the site.
What the role involves
- Carry out routine upkeep, troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuild work on machinery, equipment, and site infrastructure.
- Ensure all production and facility assets are properly maintained within the manufacturing environment.
- Inspect equipment regularly, identify worn or faulty parts, and complete replacements when needed.
- Respond promptly to repair requests, as delays can affect output and revenue.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports for all maintenance activity and repair work completed.
- Remain on site and complete maintenance tasks directly within the factory and facility areas.
- Support improvements to existing machinery so it operates more efficiently and reliably.
- Track tools and spare items carefully, and arrange purchases of new items when stock is needed.
Experience and education
A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a qualification considered equivalent, is expected. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in a relevant maintenance or technical field. Familiarity with Maximo or a similar asset management platform is helpful, although it is not mandatory because training will be provided at the site.
