Role summary
This Christchurch-based opportunity is for a motivated Sales Manager to lead the SME LPG sales function. The role is focused on growing Rockgas profitably, improving revenue across small and medium commercial accounts, contracts and partnerships throughout New Zealand, and strengthening the brand with customers who have growth potential.
Key focus areas
- Lead and develop the SME sales team to deliver strong commercial results.
- Shape and execute both strategic and day-to-day plans for sales growth.
- Increase LPG market share and support customer value delivery.
- Build trusted relationships with commercial clients and partners.
- Enhance Rockgas’ reputation in the SME and broader commercial market.
What you should bring
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of creating sustainable, profitable growth and will bring energy, initiative and a practical can-do approach. Experience in senior sales or business development roles, along with people leadership capability, is important. You should also be comfortable balancing strategy with execution, working with data, and closing commercial opportunities.
Additional requirements and details
- A relevant tertiary qualification in business, finance or commerce is preferred.
- Experience coaching and leading high-performing teams is required.
- Background in senior sales or business development management is expected.
- Strong strategic and operational judgement with a focus on improvement and innovation is needed.
- You must have solid relationship management, influencing and sales closing skills.
- Commercial and financial understanding, including budget ownership and data-led decision-making, is important.
- Good negotiation and contract management capability is required.
- Experience in SME or B2B channels, or in energy retail, would be an advantage but is not essential.
- The role involves some travel, and a work vehicle is provided.
