Loss Prevention Officer

Role overview

This position supports property safety and security for Aloft Hotels in Al Ain Square, Al Towayya, Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. It is a full-time, non-management role within the Loss Prevention & Security function and is carried out on-site.

Key duties

• Patrol the property and help guests access rooms when needed.
• Keep watch over CCTV, perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire/life safety systems.
• Lock entrances when required and carry out routine checks for physical hazards.
• Respond to accidents, contact emergency medical services, or provide first aid/CPR when appropriate.
• Support guests and employees during emergencies and notify the right people about accidents, attacks, or other incidents.
• Calm disruptive guest or employee situations and request outside help when necessary.
• Prepare incident reports for all security and loss-prevention matters.
• Handle interruptions and complaints while keeping operations running smoothly.
• Address unsafe situations and escort unauthorized persons off the property.
• Respond to vehicle accidents and thefts, using the correct code responses when calling for help.
• Prepare the loss prevention shift summary and daily activity report.
• Protect confidential security and property records, sharing them only with authorized people.
• Investigate incidents, collect evidence, and interview relevant parties.

Standards and working expectations

The role requires strict adherence to company procedures, safety training, certification requirements, confidentiality rules, appearance standards, and asset protection practices. The officer is also expected to deliver courteous guest service, communicate professionally, work well with colleagues, support shared goals, and meet quality standards. The job involves extended standing, sitting, or walking; reading and verifying information in different formats; using computers or POS systems; moving quickly in response to work situations; and handling physical tasks such as lifting, reaching, bending, climbing stairs, and working in narrow, uneven, or slippery areas. Other duties may be assigned by supervisors.

Education and experience

A high school diploma or GED is preferred. No related work experience is required, and no supervisory experience is needed. No license or certification is specified, although some states may require additional licensing or registration for this type of role.
