Job description
Role overview
This position sits within the Retail Loss Prevention function, which helps safeguard shop-based teams across the UK and Ireland. The group works to reduce risk, protect colleagues and customers, investigate fraudulent activity, and limit avoidable financial losses.
Covering more than 550 shops, the team partners with Retail Operations, Compliance, Employee Relations, outside agencies, and third-party suppliers. Its remit includes protecting margin, supporting regulatory compliance, and handling everyday challenges across a busy retail betting network.
Working arrangement
This role uses a hybrid model that blends home working, field visits to shops, and office or field activity for at least two days each week. There may also be occasional planned travel to Dublin, Leeds, or London, along with rare evening or weekend phone support when the business needs it.
Key accountabilities
- Develop dependable working relationships with District Operations Managers, shop colleagues, and other stakeholders to reduce risk, strengthen loss prevention, review margin impacts, and provide practical support.
- Look into alleged misconduct or breaches of regulatory standards while following appropriate employee relations processes.
- Carry out compliance and loss prevention audits during shop visits to identify gaps and support ongoing improvement.
- Work with An Garda Síochána on theft, robbery, and criminal behaviour matters, including preparing and submitting evidence packs to the required standard.
- Contribute to readiness across the Irish retail estate as regulations evolve following the formation of the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI).
What you will need to succeed
The role calls for someone with strong practical knowledge of retail loss prevention, preferably gained in a multi-site, customer-facing environment. You should be confident handling complex information, identifying trends and exceptions, making sound decisions, and setting priorities effectively. Clear written and spoken communication is essential, as is experience working with third-party suppliers and external bodies.
