Job description

Role overview

Join Amazon’s operations environment in a role focused on protecting people, assets, and business continuity across the supply chain. As a Loss Prevention Expert, you will provide security support to operational sites, help reduce loss, and strengthen resilience through practical, hands-on work.

Core responsibilities

  • Help prepare sites for emergencies and crises by supporting local resilience planning.
  • Spot vulnerabilities such as loss risks, process gaps, and associate-experience issues, then help define effective corrective actions while staying aligned with legal and ethical standards.
  • Act as a local security contact, working with site leadership and outside stakeholders such as law enforcement and industry bodies on security matters.
  • Make sure assigned sites follow Amazon’s global security requirements.
  • Lead security and loss-prevention initiatives at local, regional, and country levels.

What the role involves day to day

You will be part of a Security and Loss Prevention team serving internal business customers across several business units in a defined geographic area. The work includes routine physical security reviews, investigation of policy breaches, security incidents, and loss events. Investigations rely on system monitoring, data analysis, and interviews to build a clear picture of what happened.

Your observations will be used to identify weak points in processes and to drive improvements. You will help protect site integrity by checking the condition of security systems and working with subject matter experts and suppliers to keep them functioning properly. The position also involves improving physical security controls, supporting budget planning for external providers, working daily with security vendors to maintain service quality, and running awareness and training activities for teams at different management levels. You will also support execution of the Security and Loss Prevention plan.

About the team

This function sits within Global Security Operations and supports Amazon’s business goals and brand strength by guarding against threats and managing security and loss-prevention risks. These risks may endanger associates and customers, interrupt operations, damage company assets, or harm brand reputation.

Working closely with stakeholders, the team protects the end-to-end supply chain, promotes security in business discussions, prevents risks before they escalate, responds to active incidents to reduce impact, and investigates root causes to stop repeat events.

Qualifications and requirements

Candidates must be fluent in spoken, written, and read English as well as German. A bachelor’s degree or an internationally recognized equivalent is required. The role also calls for experience in one or more of the following areas: security services, asset protection, loss prevention, risk management, inventory management, investigations, supply chain, auditing, compliance, or a similar field. Professional experience using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is also needed.

Preferred experience includes work in distribution centers, logistics, or manufacturing; handling data and analytics; holding a valid and active driver’s license; possessing an advanced degree or equivalent credential; or having an industry certification. Additional relevant background includes physical security systems, investigation methods, or managing contract security officers.
