Long Haul Truck Driver

Overview

Robust Transport Services Ltd. is hiring a long haul truck driver based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The role involves highway and route travel, with work locations that may change as needed. The position requires frequent or ongoing travel away from base.

Experience

No previous experience is necessary, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner.
• Work as part of a two-driver team or convoy when required.
• Load and unload cargo.
• Operate straight trucks or articulated trucks to move goods and materials safely.
• Check the vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, refrigerated units, and other equipment.
• Carry out brake adjustments.
• Perform roadside emergency repairs when needed.
• Complete pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and monitor all aspects of the vehicle.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks.
• Log cargo details, hours driven, distance covered, and fuel used.
• Secure freight with tarps and ensure cargo safety and security.

Credentials

The role requires an Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and a valid Class 1 or A driver’s licence.

Experience and Specialization

Experience with tractor-trailers is expected.
