Role overview
This leadership position is focused on running and improving the full logistics and supply chain flow for a manufacturing setup. The scope covers warehousing, transport, distribution, inventory control, import/export movement, and overall supply chain performance.
The ideal candidate will be a practical, data-oriented manager who can raise efficiency, improve visibility across the chain, keep costs under control, strengthen service dependability, and lead ongoing improvement initiatives in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Core responsibilities
The role spans end-to-end coordination across factories, warehouses, suppliers, and customers, with responsibility for inbound and outbound movement, stock flow, and performance improvement.
- Oversee the complete logistics and supply chain cycle across manufacturing, warehousing, suppliers, and customer operations.
- Plan and supervise incoming and outgoing logistics activities.
- Make sure raw materials, finished products, and inventory move efficiently through the supply chain.
- Spot operational issues and put corrective measures in place to raise performance.
- Improve visibility, responsiveness, and control across supply chain processes.
Warehouse and inventory management
- Direct warehouse activities such as receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and stock monitoring.
- Raise inventory accuracy and reduce stock mismatches.
- Track slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, and excess stock.
- Improve warehouse arrangement, space usage, material handling, and inventory workflows.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping expectations.
Transportation and distribution
- Handle transport planning, route efficiency, shipment timing, and delivery execution.
- Improve vehicle utilization and the performance of third-party logistics partners.
- Monitor and lift on-time delivery results.
- Look into and resolve late deliveries, damaged shipments, customer complaints, and service breakdowns.
- Ensure transport operations meet safety and regulatory standards.
Import, export, and customs operations
- Manage import and export work, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and shipping paperwork.
- Work with internal teams and outside partners to keep customs and logistics processes moving smoothly.
- Track shipments and proactively handle delays, clearance problems, and missing documentation.
- Stay aligned with applicable trade rules and customs compliance requirements.
Vendor and service provider management
- Coordinate with logistics vendors, freight forwarders, transport firms, customs brokers, and warehouse partners.
- Review supplier performance against service, cost, quality, compliance, and operational measures.
- Support continuous improvement and cost-optimization work with external providers.
Cost control and process improvement
- Track costs across logistics, warehousing, transport, and distribution.
- Find cost-saving opportunities while protecting service quality.
- Create SOPs and process controls for logistics, inventory, warehousing, and transportation activities.
- Support digital initiatives such as ERP tools, inventory tracking systems, barcode solutions, and reporting dashboards.
- Prepare KPI reports and dashboards for logistics performance, inventory health, and operational efficiency.
Leadership and team management
- Lead teams working in logistics, warehousing, transport, dispatch, and supply chain functions.
- Set KPIs, performance goals, and accountability standards.
- Promote a culture of safety, operational excellence, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Coach and develop team members to improve performance and future readiness.
- Work closely with Production, Procurement, Planning, Sales, Finance, Quality, HSE, and senior leadership.
Requirements
This position calls for a seasoned supply chain leader with strong manufacturing-sector exposure, team management experience, and solid technical knowledge across logistics operations.
- A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline is required.
- At least 10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, warehousing, transportation, distribution, or industrial operations.
- A minimum of 5 years in a team leadership or people-management role.
- Strong background in manufacturing, industrial, engineering, electrical products, construction materials, or heavy-industry settings.
- Demonstrated experience in warehousing, inventory control, transport, distribution, and broader supply chain operations.
- Experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC markets is preferred.
- Good understanding of import/export processes, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and logistics compliance.
- Deep knowledge of supply chain principles and established best practices.
- Experience with ERP platforms and supply chain reporting tools.
- Ability to design and roll out SOPs, process improvements, and operational controls.
- Exposure to inventory optimization, forecasting, and warehouse productivity improvement.
- Familiarity with digital logistics tools, barcode systems, and supply chain automation solutions.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Fluent English is required; Arabic is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as CSCP, CLTD, CPIM, CILT, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or other recognized supply chain/logistics credentials are an advantage.
