About the Role
Our client is a prominent manufacturing enterprise specializing in cutting-edge packaging solutions for sectors including FMCG, food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and industrial products throughout East Africa. They are currently looking to appoint a skilled Logistics Manager responsible for managing transportation, warehousing, stock movement, and distribution while ensuring cost-effectiveness, excellent service standards, and punctual product delivery.
Key Duties
- Design and execute comprehensive inventory control policies and processes.
- Continuously track inventory levels, ensuring necessary raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products are available.
- Maintain precise inventory documentation and conduct timely stock reconciliations.
- Lead regular stock verification initiatives including cycle counts and audits.
- Assess inventory trends to suggest improvements aimed at optimizing stock and minimizing holding costs.
- Collaborate closely with procurement, production, and warehouse departments to fulfill operational demands.
- Investigate any discrepancies or variations in inventory and resolve them efficiently.
- Prepare detailed inventory reports and key performance indicators for management oversight.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, quality benchmarks, and best practices in inventory management.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, Operations Management or related discipline.
- At least five years of relevant experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain management, particularly within manufacturing settings.
- In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse practices.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
- Exposure to FMCG, packaging, or plastics manufacturing sectors is considered advantageous.
