Role overview
This opportunity is with a global industrial manufacturer known for advanced materials and engineered products. The company operates production sites across multiple countries, employs a large workforce worldwide, and places strong emphasis on operational performance, innovation, and long-term sustainable development.
To enhance the supply chain setup at the manufacturing site, the business is looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to take ownership of all logistics functions on location.
In this role, you will manage the full site logistics operation and help ensure smooth material movement, accurate inventory control, effective warehousing, and reliable transport execution. You will also support customer service goals and wider business priorities.
The position includes responsibility for improving processes, strengthening logistics systems, and developing a capable team in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and improve all logistics flows, including inbound, internal, and outbound movements.
- Ensure materials are handled efficiently from receiving through to final delivery.
- Coordinate transport planning, loading and unloading activities, and overall logistics output.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, efficient warehouse use, and disciplined stock control.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen end-to-end supply chain and logistics processes.
- Build and support a logistics structure that can scale with future business needs.
- Guide, develop, and motivate the logistics team while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Take responsibility for logistics equipment and automated warehouse solutions.
- Track spending, service quality, and operational KPIs to keep performance on target.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings a background in logistics leadership within an international manufacturing setting and can work confidently across complex industrial supply chain operations. Experience with quality systems such as VDA and IATF is important, along with a strong track record in project work and process optimisation.
You should also be comfortable working with ERP platforms and Microsoft Office tools, and communicate fluently in both German and English. A practical, hands-on working style, combined with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, is essential. The role also calls for clear leadership skills and the ability to drive change and deliver measurable results.
Requirements
- A degree, apprenticeship, or comparable qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading logistics functions in an international manufacturing environment.
- Solid knowledge of industrial supply chain operations and complete logistics processes.
- Practical experience working with automotive quality standards such as VDA and IATF.
- Proven ability to manage projects and improve processes effectively.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in German and English.
- A hands-on mindset supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to implement change and achieve results.
