Role Summary
Based in Mannheim, this position is suited to someone who is organised, process-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced international setting. The role combines logistics coordination, third-party logistics partner management, and customer service support, with a strong emphasis on Switzerland.
Logistics and 3PL Coordination
- Serve as the link between internal teams and external warehousing or transport providers, while keeping a close watch on 3PL execution and service levels.
- Review and align customer-specific as well as operational requirements together with logistics partners.
- Coordinate co-packing work in the warehouse, including assembly, packaging, and other value-added activities.
- Manage rework tasks and defective product handling with external partners, including obtaining quotations where needed.
- Track and validate EDI connections between Business Central and logistics service providers.
- Act as the contact point for customer service on logistics-related complaints and issues.
- Prepare reports and monitor KPIs, including carrier and warehouse performance.
- Check freight and warehousing invoices, control costs, and ensure spending stays within budget.
- Oversee and improve returns and shipping processes, including training relevant employees.
- Support logistics and supply chain projects with a focus on process improvement.
- Coordinate sample deliveries for new products arriving from Asia, including international couriers and shipping paperwork.
- Organise shipments and returns for international trade fairs, with delivery follow-up as required.
- Carry out regular stock reconciliations to ensure warehouse records, physical inventory, and ERP data remain aligned.
Customer Service and Order Handling
- Support established customer relationships, mainly in an office-based setting.
- Handle the full order process independently, from quotation through order entry to delivery and invoicing.
- Resolve customer questions, complaints, and service issues in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with Sales and assist across all stages of the sales cycle.
- Maintain accurate customer and order information in the ERP system.
- Coordinate continuously with logistics partners to maintain service quality and timely deliveries.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has completed vocational training or holds a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a similar field. Prior experience in logistics or supply chain roles is important, preferably involving 3PLs, freight forwarders, and customer service operations. You should be a confident communicator who can manage both internal and external stakeholders effectively. A strong analytical approach, along with an eye for cost control and process optimisation, is essential. Very good German and English skills are required. You should also be comfortable using logistics and reporting tools such as Business Central, Excel, pivot tables, Tableau, or Power BI. Experience with international logistics and knowledge of foreign trade regulations would be an advantage.
