Job description

Overview

Daniels Health began with a mission-driven idea: combine microbiology, innovation, and clinical expertise to solve a major healthcare safety problem. Founded in 1986, the company focused on creating a safer containment system to reduce needlestick injuries linked to sharps disposal. That work helped drive an 80%+ drop in disposal-related needlestick injuries in Australia, and the organization has continued to expand its impact.

The company is seeking an analytical, detail-focused logistics professional who can perform well in a fast-moving operational setting. The right person will have practical experience in transportation planning, route design, and data-led decision-making, along with the ambition to develop into a more senior, national-level role.

This position calls for strong collaboration across functions, a proactive approach, and the ability to convert complex data into practical improvements throughout a delivery and collection network.

Role summary

The Logistics Analyst - Transportation & Routing is responsible for building, evaluating, and improving daily transportation routes across Daniels’ delivery and collection network. The goal is to strengthen service dependability, improve cost efficiency, and enhance overall operational performance.

Although the role is based in Brampton and supports Daniels’ largest market in Ontario, it has a Canada-wide mandate. The analyst will help standardize routing practices, performance tracking, and system usage across business units from coast to coast.

This role sits at the intersection of operations and systems, using route optimization platforms, fleet telematics, and ERP data to support day-to-day execution while also uncovering opportunities for broader network improvement.

Transportation planning and route optimization

  • Develop, update, and sustain efficient delivery and collection routes using optimization tools such as Omnitracs / Solera and Roadnet, while balancing service expectations, cost, and asset use.
  • Improve routing methods on an ongoing basis, including route resequencing, schedule start-time changes, and territory redesign, to raise network performance and reduce transportation spend.
  • Support day-to-day routing operations by making live adjustments for add-on orders, unplanned collections, traffic, weather, and equipment or driver limitations.

Fleet performance and telematics analysis

  • Track live fleet activity through telematics systems such as Samsara and Geotab, monitoring measures like on-time delivery and collection, idle time, route compliance, and driver conduct.
  • Spot trends and performance shortfalls, then recommend practical changes that improve efficiency, utilization, and adherence to requirements.

Data analysis and performance reporting

  • Review transportation data, including mileage, stop volume, service duration, and cost indicators, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Build and monitor key metrics such as cost per stop, stops per route, route adherence, load factor, and service performance across delivery and collection activities.
  • Turn data into clear recommendations and operational insights for leadership teams across regions.

Systems and integration

  • Manage routing settings and master data inside optimization systems to maintain accurate and reliable outputs.
  • Work across Daniels’ core platforms and ensure consistency between route optimization tools, fleet telematics systems, and ERP platforms.
  • Help improve data quality, system connectivity, and visibility across planning and execution layers.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Work with transportation, site operations, customer service, and planning teams across Canada so delivery and collection schedules align with customer commitments and operational constraints.
  • Support onboarding of new customers, new service offerings, and network changes through scenario analysis and cost/service impact evaluation.

Continuous improvement

  • Identify and contribute to improvement initiatives across routing, dispatch, and transportation processes.
  • Help create standardized routing practices and KPI frameworks across regions.
  • Support compliance with transportation regulations and company safety standards, using telematics data where needed.
