Job description

Role overview

Dynatrace is looking for a highly driven Log Management Domain Specialist to own the log-management domain for its observability offering. In this position, you will act as the go-to expert for the solution, helping accelerate adoption, expand usage, and move customers away from older log tools. You will work closely with the global sales team to showcase the value of Dynatrace Grail™, and guide customers from fragmented, expensive logging setups to a single AI-powered observability platform.

Location and travel

This position is open in Singapore, or in India only for Bengaluru or Mumbai. Preference will be given to local citizens and permanent residents. The role involves travel of up to 30%.

Primary focus

The main areas of responsibility are log management and observability.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the log-management subject matter expert and stay current on evolving practices such as OpenTelemetry, log-pipeline tools like Cribl and BindPlane, and cloud-native logging systems including CloudWatch and Stackdriver.
  • Explain how Dynatrace Grail differs architecturally, including the benefits of schema-on-read and index-free storage in handling modern logs with high-cardinality data.
  • Work with account executives and sales engineers to find and execute displacement opportunities against legacy vendors.
  • Run high-value proof-of-concepts that demonstrate return on investment by lowering log-ingestion costs and improving troubleshooting speed.
  • Create economic value models that help customers understand how to optimize SaaS usage and get more value from their Dynatrace spend.
  • Design resilient, vendor-neutral log-ingestion architectures using tools such as Fluentd, Logstash, and OpenTelemetry Collector pipelines.
  • Help customers solve complex log-routing challenges by prioritizing high-value data for analytics and archiving lower-value data in a cost-efficient way.
  • Identify blockers to log-consumption growth and provide technical guidance that increases data volume usage and user adoption.
  • Lead best-practice workshops on log-based alerting, Dynatrace Query Language proficiency, and dashboard creation.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a domain specialist, pre-sales, professional services, or SRE role.
  • Minimum 3 years of focused experience in log management or big data analytics.
  • Advanced command of query languages such as Splunk SPL, Kusto QL, SQL, or Lucene.
  • Strong understanding of log-ingestion pipelines and telemetry pipeline tools such as Cribl, BindPlane, and Vector.
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and serverless logging patterns.
  • Good knowledge of cloud logging ecosystems across AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with automation tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Ability to connect technical outcomes with business impact, including effects on MTTR and operational costs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Hands-on exposure to modern observability pipelines, including Cribl-based solutions or OpenTelemetry logging specifications.
  • Familiarity with the Cribl ecosystem or OpenTelemetry logging specs.
  • Working knowledge of scripting with Python, Go, or Bash for log transformation and data cleanup.

What will help you succeed

  • Strong ability to combine technical depth with commercial thinking.
  • Experience explaining how observability and log management influence operational efficiency and spending.
  • Comfort working in customer-facing, technical advisory, and solution-driven discussions.

Why Dynatrace

  • Join a company recognized for unified observability and security leadership.
  • Be part of a high-performance culture with compensation designed to reward strong results.
  • Collaborate with major cloud ecosystems and strategic partners such as AWS, Microsoft, and Google Cloud.
  • Work with Dynatrace Intelligence, an agentic operations system that combines deterministic and agentic AI to help teams understand what is happening, why it matters, and what to do next automatically.
  • Be part of an organization trusted by more than half of the Fortune 100.
